This compact three-tier stand is shaped entirely from solid wood and is proportioned to sit comfortably on a writing desk, side table, or deep window ledge without dominating the surface. The joinery relies on glued dowels and threaded inserts, methods that have been used in cabinetmaking for generations and that contribute to a reassuring firmness. No visible fixings interrupt the smooth sweep of the wood, giving the piece a clean, uncluttered appearance.
