Extra Tall 3-Tier Metal & Wood Plant Rack
This plant rack rises to an extra tall height while maintaining only three tiers, a configuration that creates exceptionally generous headroom between each shelf. The result is a display stand capable of housing tall, upright plants — such as fiddle-leaf figs, sansevierias, or mature monstera — that would be cramped on a standard multi-tier unit. The frame is a combination of powder-coated metal uprights and solid wood shelves, the metal providing a slim, rigid skeleton and the wood bringing warmth and a natural grain to the surfaces. The metal parts are treated with a dark, matte coating that resists wear, and the wooden shelves are sealed with a clear lacquer that repels water while allowing the timber’s character to remain on show.
The three wooden shelves are cut thick and are further supported by metal cross-brackets beneath each platform, ensuring that even a large, heavy planter filled with moist compost can be placed on any tier without undue flex. The rack’s footprint is relatively compact for its height, with the base dimensioned to keep the unit steady and the centre of gravity well anchored. Adjustable levelling feet are fitted to each leg, and felt pads are pre-applied to protect the floor. The extra spacing between the shelves also makes it simple to tend each plant without needing to move pots from neighbouring tiers.
Assembly is a two-person task owing to the height of the finished piece, but the process itself is straightforward: bolt the metal side frames together, then fix the wooden shelves in place using the supplied hardware. An Allen key and spanner are provided. Once assembled, the rack can be positioned against a wall or used as a room divider in an open-plan space. To maintain the rack, wipe the metal with a dry or slightly damp cloth and dust the wooden shelves regularly. Any water that collects beneath a saucer should be wiped away to keep the wood in good order. The extra tall design makes this rack particularly suitable for rooms with high ceilings, conservatories, or covered verandas where tall plants can be given room to flourish.
