Description

7-Tier Wooden Multi-Layer Plant Shelf Black Oak
The shelf is constructed from solid wood that has been stained in a deep black oak tone, a finish that penetrates the grain and is then sealed with a matte lacquer. The black oak colour carries a subtle warmth, with faint traces of the underlying grain still discernible when viewed up close. The seven tiers are made from matching timber, each board sanded to a smooth, splinter-free surface and edged with a gentle round-over for a clean, refined appearance.
Structure and Tier Spacing
Seven full-width shelves are arranged at equal intervals along two solid wood side panels, which are connected at the rear by a vertical back panel that runs the full height of the unit. This back panel acts as a structural brace, preventing the shelf from developing a sideways lean, and also creates a tidy visual backdrop against which the plants can be displayed. The spacing between the tiers has been worked out to accommodate a mix of small to medium-sized pots, with enough clearance for upright foliage plants and trailing varieties alike.
Stability and Floor Protection
The base of each side panel is fitted with an adjustable levelling foot, allowing the shelf to be steadied on floors that are not perfectly true. Felt pads are pre-attached to the underside of the feet to prevent marking on timber, laminate, or tiled surfaces. The rear panel and the solid wood construction together give the unit a reassuring weight and stability, and the relatively narrow depth means it can be placed against a wall without projecting too far into the room.
Assembly Process
The shelf arrives in a flat pack with all screws, dowels, and an illustrated instruction booklet. The recommended sequence is to build the side frames and attach the back panel, then fix the seven shelves into their pre-drilled positions, squaring the unit as each shelf is added. A standard cross-head screwdriver is the only tool required, and the task is intended to be manageable by one person working methodically.
Care and Long-Term Use
To maintain the black oak finish, dust the shelves regularly with a soft, dry cloth and wipe away any water spills without delay. The sealed surface is resistant to light moisture but should not be left in prolonged contact with standing water. The shelf can also be used to store books, folded garments, or a curated collection of ceramics, and its dark, uniform colour allows it to integrate quietly into a broad range of interior décors while providing a striking contrast for green foliage.
