Description
2-Tier Bamboo & Wood Window Plant Table
This modest two-tier table is designed to stand beneath a window, bringing a small collection of plants closer to the light while providing a lower shelf for additional pots, books, or gardening sundries. The tabletop and lower shelf are made from bamboo that has been pressed into solid, laminated boards and finished with a clear, water-resistant lacquer. The legs and aprons are constructed from a complementary solid wood, chosen for its strength and its ability to take screws and dowels securely. The combination of bamboo and wood introduces a subtle play of two different grain patterns and natural tones, both kept pale and warm to suit bright, airy rooms.
The upper surface is wide enough to hold a trio of medium-sized planters, and the lower shelf is set at a height that leaves useful space for a watering can or a stack of saucers. The legs are straight and unadorned, and the table is braced by a solid wood crossbar at the rear, which adds lateral rigidity without intruding on the legroom. Each foot is fitted with a dense felt pad, allowing the table to be slid gently across a timber or tiled floor without marking it. The table is supplied as a flat pack and can be assembled by one person in under an hour using the provided Allen key and screws. The instructions set out a logical sequence: attach the legs to the aprons, fix the lower shelf in place, then secure the tabletop. All fixings are concealed once the table is assembled, giving it a clean, considered look.
To care for the table, wipe the bamboo and wood surfaces with a dry or lightly dampened cloth, and dry any water that pools around the base of a pot. The lacquer is resistant to light moisture but is not intended to withstand prolonged contact with standing water, so saucers or trays are recommended under plants that are watered in situ. The table can also be placed in a hallway as a small console, in a bathroom to hold rolled towels and lotions, or beside a favourite reading chair as a side table, and its compact, two-tier form makes it a versatile piece of occasional furniture that is easy to reposition as needs change.
